    Student E-mail Release Form

    I understand that as part of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) my records, including grades, are protected and can’t be sent to me via e-mail. I further understand that FERPA has put this requirement in place because there is no guarantee of confidentiality on the Internet. My signature below will signify my understanding that e-mail is considered an unsecured electronic form of communication (i.e. person or persons other than the student may see or intercept e-mail communication).

    By providing my e-mail address and signing this release, I am requesting that Francis Tuttle Technology Center send my grades and other communication concerning my school records and account via e-mail or text. This may include course grade reports, attendance status, account balances, financial aid status, and other student information. Any electronic transmission of grades is not considered an official transcript.

    I further understand that this authorization will continue until it is revoked in writing and such revocation is delivered to my instructor. The school will assume no responsibility for such a release of records.

    Digital Media Design Media Release

    Students will be actively involved in creating and sharing multimedia projects. This includes filming, photography, audio recording, and digital publishing. To help protect students and ensure transparency, we ask for your permission to allow you to participate in and appear in class-related media projects, which may be shared publicly.

    By signing this form, you grant permission for:

    • To be photographed, filmed, or recorded by other students or the instructor as part of class projects.
    • Your work (videos, photos, graphics, audio) to be published or displayed online or in print to promote student achievement and the Digital Media Design program.
    • Use of your first and last name alongside your creative work in digital portfolios, social media posts, and presentations.
    • Francis Tuttle to showcase your work in school marketing materials, at events, or in competitions.

    Digital Media Design Acceptable Use Policy

    Student Access

    Students will have an online portfolio directly related to their school projects.

    Student web pages should:

    • Contain their original work: content, writing, artwork, photography (etc.) should all be constructed by the student
    • Be professional in nature as this will serve as their portfolio. The brand the students create for themselves should exemplify them, their work, and the program
    • Sites should not contain creepy or daunting material (such as skulls, skeletons, devils, etc.)

    Limitation of Liability

    Francis Tuttle makes no guarantee that the functions of the services provided by or through the Francis Tuttle system will be error-free or without defect. Francis Tuttle will not be responsible for any damage the student may suffer, including but not limited to, loss of data or interruptions of service.

    Disciplinary Actions

    Routine maintenance and monitoring of the server may lead to the discovery that a student has violated this policy, the handbook, or the law. Francis Tuttle will cooperate fully with local, state or federal officials in any investigation related to any illegal activities conducted through the Internet. In the event there is a claim that a student has violated this policy, the student will be provided with written notice of the suspected violation and an opportunity to present an explanation before the Director. If the student has violated this policy, the student will lose their right to host their portfolio on the Francis Tuttle web server(s) and could be removed from the program. I understand that if I violate the rules my account can be terminated and I may face other disciplinary measures.
